It must be true what they say about the sun shining on the righteous because the Friends of the Grange School could not have wished for a better afternoon on which to hold their second Family Fun Day.

The crowds came out with the sun and, thanks to fine organisation and an awful lot of hard work, a very enjoyable afternoon was had by all. The one possible exception to this could be the unfortunates who ended up in the stocks, but as they are all teachers they deserve very little sympathy ... and didn't they all get a soaking! (I can gloat about this because this year my brief was to take the photographs you have come here to look at, but last year guess what I was doing for most of the afternoon?)

Along with the many stalls were some real novelty items - the birds of prey, the snakes and spiders, the FA Cup, the Morris men, the martial arts demonstration, to name a few. Then there were the rides, the refreshments stalls and, of course, the football tournament. All this combined to make a genuine "fun day" for the family and, as the pictures show, they seemed to appreciate the efforts made on their behalf.

So, thanks FOGS. You devil behind the scenes for most of the year, doing invaluable work for the school and it was therefore fitting your premier event should be such a success. And thanks also to all who supported the event and helped raise over £2000 towards our Sports College bid.
